IDEAMA - "Internationales digitales elektroakustisches Musikarchiv"

IDEAMA.jpg

IDEAMA featured among the first, systematic study editions of electroacoustic music and was one of the first music archives to be made available, from 1990 onwards, as an audio CD-ROM. This was produced by the ZKM in Karlsruhe and the CCRMA | Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford University. In the context of a preventative, conservatory intervention, ca. 780 works from the period 1930-1970 were transferred to an updated database, such that redundant audio data was removed and the remainder could be played back as required. As a result, it is now possible to obtain a hard drive version of IDEAMA.
